The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) came into existence on August 08, 2011 and was established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No.25 of 2009 read with the Central Universities Act, 2009). The first academic session (2011-2012) commenced with three post graduate courses and at present university is offering 7 integrated/4 undergraduate/19 Postgraduate/23 Ph.D. and Certification programmes in Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and Management through different Schools and Departments. The University also offers B.Tech., M.Tech and Ph.D Program in the area of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The University is fully functional from its campus located near Village Rahya – Suchani (Bagla) in District Samba of UT of J&K; approximately 24 km away from Jammu and its campus is well connected through local and state transport. Central University of Jammu epitomizes an inclusive and pluralistic institution of higher learning where the faculty and students are collectively committed to discover and share knowledge, as well as addressing the challenges that our world is facing.
